So it it looking more and more like both the Pac and Big Ten want to be 12 teams.

I woudl think the Pac-10 would go for Utah and BYU.

For real, why would they do any of that? Both of those leagues are so successful and their fans are happy, right? All of the Big 10 fans here seem real happy with the currrent state of affairs, we don't have any PAC 10 fans really. I just don't get it, they even have their major bowl game - the Rose Bowl. They don't need 12 teams unless they want to imitate the Big 12 and the SEC. Do the PAC 10 and Big 10 feel inferior to those 2 leagues? I don't think they should, true the Big 12 and SEC are superior at recruiting. But on the field the Big 10 and PAC 10 seem to hold their own, except when Ohio State lost a couple of big games. I just don't get it. :noidea

I did not say they should expand, just that they are looking like they could. Most of the sites I read think it will go

Missouri to the big 10 ( I still think it could be an eastern school)

Coloroado and Utah to Pac 10 (I just dont see that one...but what they had CBS and someplace else).

CBS thinks the Big 12 will ask Boise State and TCU to join. ( I think there is no way Boise State will be invited to the Big 12....TCU could...in fact if anything I think Arkansas could think about moving back to the Big 12 rather than Boise...and mabye the ACC going after someone like FSU or Clemson).

I still think BYU makes the most since, but all the insiders seem to think the Pac-10 does not want BYU because of their religious beliefs.

I just think CBS is likely way off base as they normally are.

As a PAC10 fan I am a bit torn on the subject, I realize I am a small representation here. I like the conference as it is, we currently play a full round robin. On the other hand the financial benefits of aconferecne championship game is appealing and is most likely the driving factor for giving expansion a look.

PAC10 presidents will likely be very particular as to who would be invited in if this ever goes anywhere. BYU is out as they do not play any sports on Sunday and they are not a Tier 1 research university, Hawaii is not either. Utah, TCU, Nebraska, Colorado are all universities that are in reasonable proximity and meet the research criteria.
